There is no obvious candidate for ‘Martineau’. In the 1841 census, one Arthur Martineau, 'clergyman' aged 33 is living
at Crouch Hall, Crouch End (HO 107/663/4/54/p.15). in the 1851 census, and no-one of that name living in Hornsey.
There is a Maria Palmer, a coachman's wife aged 51, living in Hornsey in 1851 (HO 107/1702/9/p.11).
