The appointment letters of John Durancé George, Dental Surgeon

Writer: J.A. Clark

Date: Tuesday night

Address: Brook Street

My dear Sir,
           It would be
a great satisfaction
to me if you would
permit me to return
Miss George’s Fee - I only
took it out of delicacy
to Dr. Chambers as I
thought he had taken
one – altho’ I had not
the pleasure of knowing
you before, I knew and
am much indebted
to your & Miss George’s
uncle Mr Cartwright.
            I am, dear Sir,
                  yours truly
                        J.A. Clark
           Brook Street
                  Tuesday night.

Notes:

This is probably the J.A. Clark, ‘Surgeon’, listed in the 1851 census as aged 24 and living at 5 Sackville Street, Westminster, with his parents. His father John was a dentist.
