Notes:
Durancé George notes at the top of the letter an appointment of "¼ to 3 tomorrow".
The letter is from the second wife of the 9th Duke of St Albans, born Elizabeth Catherine Gubbins, whom he married
in May 1839.
The Duke, otherwise William Aubrey de Vere Beauclerk, (1801-1847), had three children with Elizabeth:
- William Ameleus Aubrey de Vere Beauclerk, 10th Duke of St Albans (1840–1898)
- Diana de Vere Beauclerk (1842–1905)
- Charlotte Beauclerk (1849–?)
