Notes:
Lady Duncan was Juliana Cavendish (1820-1898), the eldest daughter of Sir George Philips, MP.
In 1839 she married Adam, Viscount Duncan, (1812-1867) son of the 1st Earl of Camperdown. Her husband was a Lord of the
Treasury 1854-9; sat as MP for Bath 1841-52; and for Forfarshire 1854-9. He died in 1867.
In the 1841 census Lady Duncan is recorded as being aged 20, ‘independent’, and with two young daughters –
Julia aged 2 and an unnamed infant aged 2 weeks.
