Notes:

John Campbell, 1st Baron Campbell, PC, KC, FRSE (17 September 1779 – 24 June 1861) was a British Liberal politician, lawyer and man of letters. He was Lord Chancellor for two years from June 1859 to June 1861.

The writer is clearly muddled over the name of the dental surgeon he is to see, conflating Samuel Cartwright and John Durancé George into one and the same person, 'George Cartwright'.
